Privacy Policy

Education only. Nothing here is financial advice. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Last Updated: August 1, 2026

Options Academy ("we," "us," "our") operates the educational website and mobile services known as Options Academy (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used and shared, and the choices you have.

Your privacy matters and so does your money information. We never see or store your full credit card number. Payments are handled by Apple Pay and Google Play and their payment processors.

1. A Quick Summary

  • We collect information you give us (account, content, chat messages, images you upload).
  • We collect a limited amount of automatic data (device, usage, analytics) to run and improve the Service.
  • We may use third parties (payment processors, cloud/AI providers, analytics) who process data on our behalf.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data.
  • The Service is educational content; it is not an investment adviser or a brokerage. We never request or store your brokerage credentials, account numbers, or trading passwords.

2. Who Is the Data Controller?

Options Academy is the data controller for the information collected through the Service.

To contact us about privacy: hi@StockOptionsAcademy.com.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account information: email address, display name, and password (passwords are stored hashed; we cannot read them).
  • Profile and progress: XP, levels, course progress, quiz answers, journal entries, received badges, etc.
  • Curriculum/strategy notes and personal learning content you create within the Service.
  • Simulator and journal data: simulated trades, position entries, and risk scores you enter.
  • Content you submit to the AI Mentor chat, including text questions, images and screenshots you upload.
  • Support communications you send to us.

3.2 Payment-Related Information

  • When you purchase Lifetime Access or token packs through Apple Pay or Google Play, the App Store (Apple) or Google Play processes the payment.
  • We receive from them a confirmation of your purchase and a transaction identifier. We do not receive or store your card number.
  • Token purchases and Lifetime Access may be tied to your Apple/Google account as well as your Options Academy account.

3.3 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device type, operating system, app/website version.
  • IP address and approximate general region (city/country level).
  • Pages visited, features used, session duration, and interaction metrics.
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 8).

3.4 Information from Third Parties

  • Apple/Google may share account identifiers and purchase confirmations with us.
  • Analytics providers may share aggregated usage reports with us.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  1. Operate, maintain, and personalize the Service (including restoring your progress, XP, and journal).
  2. Provide Lifetime Access and deliver token balances and in-app purchase fulfillment.
  3. Power the AI Mentor chat feature so it can respond to your questions and review content/images you submit.
  4. Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
  5. Send service-related notices (e.g., account or security updates) and, with consent where required, promotional messages.
  6. Improve and analyze the Service (security, performance, feature development) and train/improve our AI systems (see Section 5).
  7. Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

5. The AI Mentor Chat and Your Submissions

You may use the AI Mentor to ask questions, and you may upload text or images (including screenshots of your brokerage statements, trade confirmations, or journals) for the AI to analyze.

  • What you submit in chat is transmitted to us and to our third-party AI providers to generate a response.
  • Do NOT upload sensitive information. By using this feature you acknowledge that anything you share is viewable by us and our AI service providers and may be used as described here and in our Terms of Service. You should blank out account numbers, names, and any personally identifying details before uploading images.
  • We strongly recommend you never upload your real brokerage credentials, full account numbers, passwords, or financial statements containing personal identifiers.

Privacy choices that affect your submissions

  • If you delete a chat conversation, the visible copy is removed from your account.
  • Deletion/retention caveat: content submitted may be processed and retained by our AI providers and by us for abuse prevention, quality, and retraining purposes. When this happens, your data is aggregated and de-identified (your name, email, and account identifiers are removed) before it is used to improve AI models. We take reasonable steps to require our AI providers to keep this aggregate data confidential.
Watch out

Never upload real brokerage credentials, passwords, or personal identifiers to the AI Mentor. Redact account numbers before uploading images.

6. Legal Bases (for users in the EU/UK/EEA)

Where applicable law requires it, we process personal data based on the following legal bases under the GDPR:

  • Performance of a contract: to provide the Service you subscribed to.
  • Legitimate interests: security, fraud prevention, improvement of the Service, and marketing where not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent: where we ask for it (e.g., certain marketing, certain cookie categories). You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation: where we must retain data to comply with law.

7. How We Share Your Information

We only share personal information in limited circumstances:

  • Payment processors (Apple, Google): to complete purchases. Each platform's privacy policy also applies to your purchases.
  • AI/cloud service providers: to operate the AI Mentor and host data. They act on our behalf under data-processing agreements.
  • Analytics providers: anonymized/aggregated usage metrics.
  • Service providers: hosting, email delivery, customer-support tools, and infrastructure.
  • Legal/authorities: if required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect our rights, safety, or the safety of others.
  • Corporate transactions: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets (we will require the recipient to honor this Privacy Policy or notify you).
  • With your consent or at your direction.

We do not sell your personal information or Sensitive Personal Data as defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we have not sold personal information in the preceding 12 months.

8. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember theme and progress preferences, and gather usage analytics. Local storage on your device is used to persist your progress, XP, settings, and journal content.

You can adjust cookie/preference settings in your browser. Disabling certain cookies may break core features (e.g., login and progress tracking). Because some data is stored locally on your device, deleting your browser data may reset your in-app progress.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes in this Policy, including:

  • Account and progress data: while your account is active, and for a reasonable period after deletion to comply with law or resolve disputes.
  • Purchase records: as required by tax, accounting, and payment-platform rules (often 6–7 years).
  • AI chat submissions: used for the purposes in Section 5; aggregate/de-identified data may be kept to improve AI models.
  • Backup/security logs: to the extent technically necessary.

We delete or de-identify data when it is no longer needed.

10. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other laws), you may have the right to:

  • Access a copy of your personal data.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete your personal data.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing (including the sale/sharing of data).
  • Data portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email hi@StockOptionsAcademy.com. We will verify your identity and respond within the time required by law. If you request deletion, note that deleting your account also removes access to purchased Lifetime Access and unused tokens (see Terms of Service).

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for users aged 18 and older and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Options trading is high-risk and not appropriate for minors. If you are under 18, you may not create an account or purchase access.

12. International Data Transfers

The Service is operated in the United States. If you are located in the EU, UK, EEA, or elsewhere, your personal data may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on recognized transfer mechanisms (such as EU/UK Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your data.

13. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.

Never share your Options Academy password. We will never ask you for your brokerage password.

14. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA grants you rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us as above. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by a prominent notice in the Service, by email, or both, and update the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

16. Contact Us

For privacy questions or requests:

  • Email: hi@StockOptionsAcademy.com

For urgent purchase or account issues, include "Privacy" and your account email in the subject line.

17. Governing Law & No Financial-Data Collection

This Privacy Policy and your use of the Service are governed by the laws of Nevada, U.S. (regardless of conflicts principles), where not prohibited by your rights under applicable law.

Explicit confirmation: The Service is educational. We do not connect to your brokerage, do not request brokerage login credentials, and cannot access your real account. Any "simulated trades" you input are stored by you for educational purposes only and are not transmitted to any brokerage.

This document is a starting template and is not legal advice. Have it reviewed by a qualified attorney before publishing.
